May 4th, 2012Hi Eirene,
This week we will be doing a study on Job 38:1-2, “Going Deeper: How doubt leads us to grow spiritually.” One of my goals in the coming months is to prepare you graduating seniors for the road ahead as you transition into college. Although it is an exciting time for you guys, you will also face an overwhelming amount of life situations, where you will be challenged with doubts in your relationship with God. It goes without saying that this applies to all teens as they are going through high school years — the question is: are you prepared and willing to confront these doubts and questions in order that you may grow in your faith and be weaned from “the milk of basic belief” to “the meat of deeper spiritual nourishment?”
We will be meeting this Saturday, at 7:30 in the back apt!

4/29 Youth Message and Eirene

This week we have Youth Message on Sunday 4/29, and I will be speaking on “The Good Shepherd” from John 10. We will also be having Eirene afterwards with lunch and an activity.

This week 30hr Famine week!
April 18th, 2012Hi Eirene,
Here’s the schedule for 30hr Famine this week!
We will be starting the fast at 7am, 4/20 Friday morning and ending the fast on 4/21 Saturday 1pm with lunch, so remember to get a good breakfast on 4/20. Even if you are not participating in the fasting, you can come join us and participate in the events. (There will be other youths who are not fasting there as well, but DO NOT BRING OR EAT FOOD AT ANY OF THESE EVENTS.)
The events are as follows:
4/20; Friday 7pm-9:30pm — Eirene is hosting a 30hr Famine Worship Event here at our church in the FC Chapel. Youth groups from Chinese Evangelical Free Church and Chinese Grace Baptist Church will be here, and we will be doing activities, worship, and a message that night.
4/20; Friday 10pm – 4/21; Saturday 8am – Eirene 30hr Famine Lock-In. We will be sleeping over at the church and we will fellowship, doing activities and games, and drinking juice late into the night. Bring overnight necessities like a sleeping bag, toiletries, water bottle, Bible, and etc. Please remember, no snacks or breakfast, because we will still be doing the fast!
4/21; Saturday 8am – 1pm — We will be doing Community Service and having little short devotionals and breakfast of blended juice in the morning. The Community Service is still to be determined at this point. Please be on a look out for a update!
4/21; Saturday 1pm – 2pm – We will be Breaking Fast with Lunch together as a group. We are thinking about going to a local cafe, like Face Cafe or Baccali, to have lunch together, and we will be back at the CBMC parking lot at 2pm.
Please let me know if you are participating in any of these events! Remember, you do not have to participate in the fast in order to be a part of this and you do not have to participate in everything! I realize that you guys have busy schedules on Fridays and Saturday, so please also let me know in order that I could have an accurate count for each event.

Matthew 18:21-35
April 12th, 2012Hey Eirene,
So this week our apartment is being used by some guests from a ministry team, so instead we will be meeting in Pastor Jon’s house. His address is 116 S. Chapel Avenue, Unit F, Alhambra, CA 91801. We will be doing a Bible study on the parable from Matthew 18:21-35. There will be an activity before the Bible study and announcements after as usual. Hope you can come. Also a reminder to continue to raise support for the 30hr famine.
Good Friday Service 4/6 @ 8pm
April 5th, 2012Hi Eirene,
This week come join us for the Good Friday Service tomorrow at 8pm at church! We will spend time worshipping God, hearing testimonies, having Communion, and praying together with all the other fellowships. We won’t have fellowship this Saturday, but next Saturday 4/14, we will be having our regular meeting.

Scavenger Hunt and Movies

This week, we are going on an outing. We will be going to the Santa Anita Mall for a scavenger hunt and a movie. We’re meeting at the food court to eat lunch before we start the activities. If you are going to join us please tell me or Pastor Jon. Please also remember to bring about $15–$9 for the tickets and extra if you want snacks. Hope you can come and join us!

This week Josh is going to be leading our fellowship on the topic “How do we live as Christians in our daily life with peers and friends?” We will be playing a game as usual, and then Josh will lead the fellowship. We will also be discussing certain events like next week’s outing and the 30hr famine. If you to give your input on the subject, please be there. Thanks and hope to see you there
How to Poetic Literature in the Bible

This week we are doing a Bible Study, “How to Poetic Literature in the Bible,” and we’ll be focusing on Psalms 1 and 8. We will be playing, “Name that Tune,” and have the opportunity to write your own songs in groups as application of studying the Bible’s poetic literature.
Youth Message, lunch, and Eirene

Tomorrow, Devin Lau will be speaking at our Youth Message on “The Parable of the Sower,” and afterwords we will be having lunch and our kickoff for the 30 hr Famine! Remember lunch is $5, but let me know ASAP, like tonight, if you need lunch.
